Cognac Leather and Pine Lounge Chair by Ate Van Apeldoorn, c.1970


A superb lounge chair designed by Ate Van Apeldoorn and produced by Houtwerk Hattem, the Dutch furniture manufacturer he founded in 1958. 

Composed from a pine frame with thick inset dowels that support a cognac leather seat and back rest. The construction is typical of the high quality craftsmanship you would expect from Ate van Apeldoorn and features his trademark finger joint detailing.

Condition: Fair condition for its year being structurally sound but with various surface imperfections to the frame and upholstery. The leather has been replaced at some point.
