DS3 Chair by Rennie Mackintosh for Cassina, c.1980

The DS3 chair was designed in 1918 by Scottish Architect and Designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh whose influentials designs helped shape European movements such as Art Nouveau and Secessionism and earned praise from iconic Modernist’s including Josef Hoffmann. 

The DS3 chair was produced under license by Cassina from the 1970 to 1990’s. These chairs, of which there are two, were produced in the 1980’s. 

They feature black stained ash frames with inset mother of pearl and rush seats.
